This involves mapping, data collection, and basic research, in addition to the provision of advice and the presentation of geological results to both the general public and the scientific community. GEUS is thus active in promoting Greenland's mineral potential. GEUS also performs tasks relating to the activities of licensees. NERI: Monitoring, Consultancy, and Dissemination of Information NERI provides a sound and informed scientific basis for environmental decisions at the political, administrative, and commercial levels. NERI's specialists in the Department of Arctic Environment support BMP's licensing process by constructing scientific baselines and monitoring environmental impacts. DEA: Facilitators of Responsible Energy Development DEA focuses on production, supply, and consumption of energy, ensuring a responsible development of energy in Denmark from the perspectives of society, the environment, and security of supply. Drawing on the agency's know-how and experience, DEA works with BMP to maintain streamlined licensing procedures, as well as to provide technical support in matters of regulation of exploration activities. DEA also assumes the Danish Government tasks within the frame of the Mineral Resources System. |
